Millennium Park Cloud Gate

I step out of the office on a cool Friday evening after a hard week, and walk across the street to Millennium Park. I’m taking some fun graphic design classes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and I have to walk through the Park in order to get to my class.

I never make it.

Green Grass and Red Wine

I’m sitting on our back porch. The grill is on. A warm breeze feels unfamiliar in this short Chicago spring. It smells like rain. Dark clouds. I’m drinking a glass of red wine, and taking in fully the ability to be outside. Even in the face of the pending storm, this feels like a gift.

Lately I’ve been into watching the new show The Chicago Code. It’s not because it has great acting, or a plot with imagination (it’s skimpy on both). Ever since Daylight Saving Time ended, I’ve been getting up slightly earlier than normal. Apparently 1-year-olds don’t get the memo about the time change, and continue to get up an hour earlier than the rest of the world. Who knew. The extra time however affords me some space in the morning to not be as [...]

On Saturday, Caroline, Miles and I are participating in the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s 25th Annual Hunger Walk. It’s the first we’ve done, but we’re pretty excited about it. It’s such an easy way to help the Food Depository’s mission, and costs us nothing but time. We’ll be taking some photos, so I’ll be able [...]
