What is The Exceptional Man?

That is the question indeed. This is my attempt to shed light on a new generation of men – men seeking to be more than the typical media stereotype of manhood.

Why does it have such a Chicago focus?

TEM is based in Chicago, and I make it a point to find places and people in Chicago of which men should take note.

Do you have a comments policy?

TEM loves comments. Comments don’t always love TEM, and that’s OK. There is no comment moderation on TEM, unless you happen to be particularly negative and nasty. For that reason, TEM does reserve the right to delete your comment at any time (only to keep away the crazies).

Also, please use your real email (I have no interest in doing anything with it), and don’t use the comments to sell your stuff or your links. That’s just crap, and it’ll get your comment deleted.

Do you have sponsored posts?

TEM believes in full disclosure. When I’m occasionally invited to review a product or service, I always point out that I was invited, and whatever I say about it is my own opinion. As such, it cannot be bought, so don’t try.

I may also occasionally write about a client of Edelman, but only explicitly and only if I feel it is applicable.

Do you have advertising?

For the reader’s sake, and for the sake of design, TEM does not do advertising – with one exception. At the bottom of the site is a banner for Thesis Theme, the WordPress theme this site uses. And that was placed there voluntarily by me because Thesis is that good and deserves the recognition.
