There’s a chance that I’ll be heading to New York in a few weeks for an awesome event. More on that later.
There’s a good chance I’ll have a baby before then.
All said, I won’t be available on the night of October 25. And I’m so depressed about it.
Aaron Draplin is a legendary designer, and half of Field Notes, one of my favorite brands ever. (The other half is Coudal Partners, based right here in Chicago.) Mere days from now, on Thursday, October 25, Draplin will be in Chicago. The digital agency Doejo seems to have secured a Chicago spot for his ”Tall Tales from a Large Man” series. It’s happening at Bow Truss Coffee Roasters on Broadway at 7:30 pm.
I’ve probably carried around a Field Notes notebook with me every day for two years. They’re one of the only non-digital items I value. And now, both of the founders are going to be in the same mother*$&@ing place at the same mother*$&@ing time. (It’s a 90s reference. Go ask your mom.)
Please, please go, so you can tell me about it. Tickets are $36 and include the print to the right, as well as access to some other limited edition merchandise.
If you need more reason to be there, or have never heard of Draplin or Field Notes, check out the below video.
Register at Eventbrite. You’re welcome.
