You may have noticed that I’ve been a little M.I.A. around here the last few weeks. Life’s been really busy, for a few reasons. One is that we’ve been seriously house-hunting. (We got an offer accepted this weekend! Yikes. More on that later.)
Another reason is that I’ve been seriously busy at work and home preparing for what can only be described as a conference blitz.
Here is what I’ll be attending this week:
- March 8 – Social Business Summit, Austin – An event that gets together some brilliant minds who are actualizing social across their organizations. The MBA in me is seriously geeking out about this. (Social + business > social + marketing.)
- March 9-10 – Dad 2.0 Summit – I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while, not the least of which is because I’ll be speaking about the changing role of fathers in the household. This event was a long-time coming for many reasons, and I’m looking forward to hanging out with all the amazing speakers and attendees who are pushing the conversation forward.
- March 9-13 – SXSW Interactive – And of course, the motherload, the big kahuna, the reason the social media/tech world converges on Austin once a year. And the reason I will be very tired come the 14th. But I’m looking forward to it, if just to connect with some smart people and see some friends again. If you’re going to be at any of said conferences in the next week, please (pretty please?) say hi and connect. And if I have a deer-in-the-headlights look like I haven’t slept in days, now you know why. Just ignore that.
