The Sartorialist, aka Scott Schuman, captured this great image of a man walking out of Starbucks in NYC. What was he so interested in? His watch – specifically how small and sleek it looks.
The Europeans are becoming gaudy with their watches, and American men for the most part are completely clueless about how to wear a watch. This guy pulls it off nicely. I think a small, understated watch makes a big statement about your style. It says that you care about the details, and those details don’t have to say, “Hey, look at me!”
An interesting side note is that Scott himself admits that he no longer wears watches. With most options being of the huge, chunky variety and every digital item you own having a clock, he no longer sees the point. What do you think?
